Teacher-Locked AI Marking — Rubric, Not Keywords
AI grading software on OnlineTestPlus starts with the teacher, not a generic score. Faculty write the subjective question and set the maximum marks. AI generates a draft scheme: named criteria, mark allocation that adds up to the maximum, a model answer, accepted variations, and partial-credit guidance. The teacher edits anything, then approves and locks. Until that lock, AI will not mark the question.

AI generates a draft scheme: named criteria, mark allocation that adds up to the maximum, a model answer, accepted variations, and partial-credit guidance. The teacher edits anything, then approves and locks. Until that lock, AI will not mark the question.
Every learner answer is assessed criterion-by-criterion against that locked table — not keyword-based AI marking, and not automatic essay grading with no teacher.
Markers stay in control: suggestions sit in a human queue unless a locked scheme and high model confidence allow auto-finalise. We do not invent marking-time reductions.
Locked criterion schemes
AI must not invent extra criteria and must not rely on keyword matching. Feedback explains what earned marks. Faculty marking shortcuts remain: Full marks, Zero, Ctrl+Enter to finalise, next unmarked response.
Optional “AI can mark descriptive” on the assessment only auto-finalises when a scheme is locked and model confidence is high. Otherwise the suggestion stays in the human queue.
